This is our fourth summer to visit Bend, but our first to take the tour of Deschutes Brewery. In the past, we’ve made a point of visiting their Public House in downtown Bend, which began brewing in 1988. Construction on the main brewing facility began in 1993.

Aug 13, 2015This BLM campground is a couple of hours east of Bend, OR. Right now, the lake is so low that the dock and boat ramp no longer reach the water, resulting in an empty campground.

"Driveway surfing in Boise. We spent a wonderful evening visiting with our old friends, Bob & Charlene, who once lived in Austin but moved to this area a few years ago."
Found a nice campsite with a great view nestled in between the lava rocks at Craters of the Moon National Monument.

Jul 23, 2015We post mostly the fun stuff that happens on our travels, but some days, the rain must fall as it is in life. My day was July 10th in Ashland, WI. We decided to go out for an easy bike ride from the RV Park through town on the paved Rails-to-Trails path downtown Ashland and then return on the paved path along Lake Superior.

Time sure flies by. We began 2015 with a holding pattern in Arizona before heading east. Now that we have made it to Maine, we are heading west.

Jul 10, 2015PANORAMA OF THE OREDOCK MURAL This mural is a “to scale” painting of the 1,800-foot Oredock built-in 1916, and under it are 21 “postcards” of different dock users over the years. This was the largest concrete dock in the world. Several years ago, the ore dock was demolished, leaving only the base structure, which now open for public visitors.
