Deschutes Brewery Tour.

This is our fourth summer to visit Bend, but our first to take the tour of Deschutes Brewery. In the past, we’ve made a point of visiting their Public House in downtown Bend, which began brewing in 1988. Construction on the main brewing facility began in 1993.

Top Photo: Bend Brewfest at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in the Old Mill District. The iconic smokestacks in the background were once part of the original Powerhouse building at the mill. That space is now occupied by REI.

This BLM campground is a couple of hours east of Bend, OR. Right now, the lake is so low that the dock and boat ramp no longer reach the water, resulting in an empty campground.

"The RV gods took care of us here. The place was full at noon — who would have guessed? A nice couple flagged us down & offered us their site as they were leaving a day early."

We needed a spot for just one night & decided to stop at Cracker Barrel. They had 5 RV spots in a pleasant setting. Plus, the next morning, we had a delicious breakfast.
