Camping on the Trace tonight at National Park Service’s Jeff Busby Campground, A very nice, small campground that accepts no reservations and is free. You can’t beat that.
Our side trip today was to Vicksburg National Military Park. The stone entrance is a sixteen-mile tour loop of the park's 1330 monuments, markers, tablets, and plaques that parallels Union siege and Confederate defensive lines. A slight detour off the Natchez Trace for a layover a Le Fleurs Bluff State Park. We will return to the Trace Sunday morning.
We can’t believe we are already in Mississippi. Settling in for a couple of days before we start up the Natchez Trace Parkway.
We landed at Kincaid Lake campground near Alexandria, LA: Nice spacious sites, a glimpse of Kincaid Lake through the trees, and trail nearby.
We're back on the road again after a seven-week layover in Austin, TX. Feels Good.
We certainly enjoyed our seven weeks in Austin. It was enjoyable visiting with our family & friends, dining out at new places & old faves, and driveway surfing.
It's really nice to have friends and family in Austin that have generously offered to park our RV in their driveway.
*Landed for a week out near Lake Travis, just north of Austin. It appears to be a nice RV Park, and it a short drive into the city.*

After thirteen plus months on the road, we have returned to Austin for a visit.
We settled in for a week with family at Lake Whitney.
Longsword Vineyard, Jackson, OR; Sonoita Vineyards, Elgin, AZ; St Clair Winery, Deming, NM We have enjoyed our Harvest Hosts visits.
During our stay at Fort Griffin, we were treated to a nice snowfall. Unfortunately, because of this, the main ground was closed.
A nice state park for a couple of day layover. We got a great site overlooking Lea Lake.
Once again, we found ourselves at a campground we enjoyed last spring. Oliver Lee is nicely tucked in at the base of the Sacramento Mountains in the Chihuahuan Desert.
Leasburg Dam State Park: Site #31 & #6, these sites have water & electric, dump station nearby, 29 sites, 4,200 foot elevation. February 19th - 25th.
Overall Experience:
We arrived at Leasburg with a three-day reservation because last spring, we couldn't get in without a reservation (we don't like making reservations). We find plenty to do in the area, so we scored one of few first come/first serve sites with water & electricity to extend our stay.

We returned to a state park we thoroughly enjoyed last spring & were greeted with a sea of little yellow flowers—one of the few state parks where rockhounds can collect rocks.
This State Park is the site where Francisco "Pancho" Villa's Mexican revolutionary attacked Columbus, NM, and the historic Camp Furlong on March 9, 1916.
