A beautiful beach in Harbor Vista County Park near the North Jetty is within easy walking distance from the campground.

We moved to the Oregon coast and found a very nice county park in Florence. We got settled in and snapped a couple of pics before the fog got too thick.

Harbor Vista - County Park Campground, near Florence: Site #2 (38 RV sites total) - This site has: electric & water hookups. Campground/RV Park Notes: flush toilets • showers • dump station available • ocean access • trails from campground (to beach) 57’ elevation. October 9th - 11th. Miles traveled: 93 (tap on mileage to see route).

Overall Experience: smile

Chanterelle Mushrooms

The first day of hunting season (at least for us). Scored about a pound of chanterelles in the vicinity of Siltcoos Lake.

We gather only chanterelles, although we can identify a few other edible mushrooms, plus many non-edibles. We have had help in the field identifying chanterelles, which really aren't too difficult to identify. We have found that the guide book "All That the Rain Promises and More..." by David Arora can be quite helpful. Also, see Chanterelle Mushrooms from our 2015 Oregon Coast trip.
