Site Update

Aug 08, 2012

The previous CMS package installed on this site proved cumbersome when updating from the road, especially when adding thumbnails. This is perhaps one of the factors that led to few updates on our last trip. I liked the look and feel, but it simply didn't work out.

So, upon returning home, I went CMS shopping again. I looked at past candidates, but each had a reason that they were ruled out before. My quest continued looking for something newer and still with a degree of simplicity (not to be confused with lack of features). And then I stumbled upon it, thanks to DuckDuckGo. The solution found was Processwire CMS. For the last few days, I have been engrossed with a crash course learning the CMS's ins and outs.

Update Dec 2013: With another trip under our belt, I reevaluated the software we used for this site. As much as I liked Processwire, I decided to migrate to Koken because of their photo management capabilities. The current site is now using Koken.

Update Oct 2015: We're changing CMS packages once again. Flat-file CMS packages have matured in the last year or so. Because of its simplicity, power, and ease of use, we have converted this site over to Grav.
