Unusual NM State Park in the sense that they allow visitors to collect rocks they find. During our visit, we noticed that the park hosts were accommodating and user-friendly.

Site #23, this site has water & electric, dump station nearby, 29 sites, 4,500 foot elevation. March 16th - 22nd.

Overall Experience: smile

Whenever we come upon fresh chiles, we like to get our Weber Little Smokie fired up. Roasting chiles is easy and fairly quick, and they can be eaten as is or added to many dishes. Once the chiles are nice and charred, just let them rest in a paper bag for about 20 minutes. Then peel and enjoy.

Mimbres Valley Brewing Company

We visited this brewpub on their big St. Patrick’s Day celebration, which also was their last day of operation. It’s sad to see a pub close, but they went out in style.

Mimbres Valley Brewing Company had closed down. Boogie’s Brewery & Distillery is now open at that location (updated March 2021).
