Colorado National Monument, Colorado

What a difference 145 miles can make. This morning we left our campsite at 9,500' elevation in the fir/aspen trees & traveled to one at 5,818' surrounded by beautiful canyons & vistas.

Overall Experience: smile

In Colorado National Monument, there are three tunnels with 10' 6" clearance warning signs. Our coach is 12' — see the dilemma. Our route into the monument took us through one of these tunnels. A park employee told us it was okay — the was 10' 6" was on the right edge of the lane, but 16' dead center. She told us to straddle the yellow stripes (and hope no one is coming from the opposite direction).

Tunnel College Our first tunnel in the Monument – we will go through two more on our route out.

Stay tuned, there's more pending...
