Guess what happened to us yesterday. After four years towing a travel trailer, it was bound to happen. The bright side: The host said some folks had gotten two flat tires on the road to this campground.



The campground is located about 20 miles north of the town of Columbia Falls, Montana. You can reach it by taking the North Fork Road, which runs alongside the river. Here are some key details about the campground:

  • It has 22 standard campsites, with 20 available for reservation and 2 for first-come, first-served.
  • The sites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet long.
  • Basic amenities such as vault toilets and drinking water are provided.
  • There are picnic tables and fire rings at each site, but no RV hookups.
  • Firewood can be purchased on-site.
  • The campground has a maximum stay limit of 14 days.

Campers at Big Creek Campground will be treated to the breathtaking sights of the Flathead National Forest. The campground is nestled in a wooded area, with the North Fork Flathead River flowing nearby. Bears are known to inhabit this area, so it's important to store your food properly to prevent any unwanted encounters.
