Additional Info: Big Bend National Park is located in the southwestern part of Texas, along the border with Mexico. It encompasses over 800,000 acres of desert, mountains, and river canyons. The park is known for its diverse array of plant and animal life, as well as its rugged and remote wilderness. The park features several hiking trails, including the strenuous Chisos Mountains trail and the more leisurely Santa Elena Canyon trail. The Rio Grande river also runs through the park and offers opportunities for rafting and kayaking. The park is also home to many historical sites, including the ruins of an old fort and a hot springs resort. Big Bend National Park is one of the most remote national parks in the continental United States and attracts both outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking a more secluded vacation.
