Bastendorff Beach Campground, Oregon - 2016

We fired up the coach and hit the road, but before we made it to Highway 101, we decided to visit a park we enjoyed last year. So north we went, and here we are.

Bastendorff Beach Campground - Forest County Park, near Coos Bay: Site #49 (74 RV sites total) - This site has: electric & water hookups • electric hookups. Campground Notes: flush toilets • vault toilets • showers • dump station available • ocean/beach access • trails nearby • 112’ elevation. October 29th - 31st. Miles driven: 53 (tap on mileage to see route).

Pros:
• Good location for exploring the sights in Cape Arago, Shore Acres, & Sunset Bay Parks.
• Sites on A loop are nicely spaced in the trees.
Cons:
• During the rainy season, campground sites can be muddy with standing water.
• Apparently, crime has increased since our visit last year. This park, along with the adjacent private RV park & state park campground, has warning notices about theft, including bicycles & personal items.

Overall Experience: neutral
