Ophir Creek Trail

Rock Lake

Tuesday's hike took us up the Ophir Creek Trail from the campground to Rock Lake and then to Lower Price Lake. Bet you can never guess why it's called Rock Lake. We hopped on rocks from the shore to find a nice spot where we could have our snacks, observing the tadpoles and leaches below the surface and ducks floating on top. This small lily pad covered lake was quite enjoyable.

From there, we decided to go on to Upper Price Lake but made it no further than Lower Price Lake (according to the map), which appeared to us as a wide stream crossing. We wimped out, getting our feet wet -- the water was mighty cold. This 13 mile out and back, with strenuous ups (about half the distance), was a wonderful like that left both us tuckered. Life is good.
